PERUVIAN BABY ALPACA WOOL

The Peruvian baby alpaca wool used for your garment is characterized by its purity and its exceptional comfort. It also offers excellent insulation from cold and heat thanks to its tubular fiber structure. It also contains no lanolin and is therefore also suitable for allergy sufferers.

The fineness of wool is measured by the diameter of the fiber in micrometers, where 1 micrometer corresponds to one thousandth of a millimeter. The diameter and length of the fiber are the most important quality features of alpaca wool.

Baby alpaca wool has a diameter of just 22.5 thousandths of a millimeter and is mainly obtained during the first shearing. The fiber then goes through a complex selection process for fineness and color, which can only be carried out by experienced craftsmen in Arequipa (Peru).
